The skin saving benefits of jojoba oil

There is SO MUCH information out in the online world about the benefits of using oil on your skin. Oils can help nourish, heal, and protect your skin, which is ideal if you're facing skin care issues because of cancer treatments. So, while it's great to have a lot of information about oils, it can also be confusing and overwhelming too.

One of my go-to skin oils is jojoba oil. I use it not only as a skin conditioner, but will sometimes use it to cleanse my skin at the end of the day. It helps dissolve make-up, and can easily be wiped away with a gentle cloth. It leaves your skin feeling soft and nourished, and I have not experience any irritation with this cleansing method.

Jojoba oil is derived from the seeds of a shrub that grows in the desert climates of the southern US and northern Mexico. It is a emollient, so it will both soften and sooth dry skin. But it is gentle enough for sensitive skin.

The oil will help trap moisture on the skin, without clogging the pores. It only takes a tiny bit of the product to make a difference, so I would recommend you use it sparingly at first, and add more if you feel your skin needs it. There are nights that I cleans my face with jojoba, and then reapply a small amount as a moisturizer... that's it. Nothing else.

Jojoba oil is the closest to our own natural skin oil, called sebum. So, if you thin about it, jojoba oil is naturally replacing what our cancer treatments have taken away - natural moisture.

My product recommendation is Organic Golden Jojoba Oil from Kaelen Harwell product line. Now, full disclosure here, I know Kaelen. She has greatly influenced my wanting to learn more and research more skin care for those of us who have been through cancer treatments. She is committed to natural, safe, and effective skin care. And when you look at her product line, it shows.

It was really from her that I learned about the benefits of jojoba oil, and I have no doubt that she has the best sourced product on the market. This product, for me, is a must have!
